Eagle Academy Bronx basketball varsity team has a good and deep roster this year. Me – Sylvester Davis, one of the team managers and Sports Editor, is expecting them to have a good season this year in a deep player run led by Coach Rose, Coach Mel and Coach Leaf . They have a loaded roster with players such as Charles (center/forward), Jaden (guard), Braylin (guard) Steven (guard/forward), Jaryn (guard/forward ), Jonathan (shooting guard), Evin (point guard), D’Andre (guard), Moussa (foreadd/center), Khalil (guard), Juan (guard), Leuri (guard). Our rivals are Wings Academy and James Monroe high schools, and these will be the most competitive teams in the Bronx league this year. I expect our Eagle team to go undefeated this year in Bronx AA league play. You can find our schedule on the Public  School Athletic League website. Some of our players share below what their expectations are for the season:

Braylin Sanjurjo (Class of 2024): I’m looking forward to playing Wings the most, which takes place December 1st. I’m expecting Eagle to go undefeated in Bronx AA league play.

Jonathan Jones (Class of 2023): I’m looking forward to playing Monroe the most, and that game takes place on December 6th at Eagle Academy gymnasium. 

Michael Wiggins – Team Manager (Class of 2024): We really have a good team. The team plays hard, and we work together to get to where we’re at.

Jaryn Bull (Class of 2023): We’re gonna be undefeated this year. And I want to play Monroe – their our rivals, along with Wings.

Evin Alequin (Class of 2024): Monroe! Let’s go.

Coach Mel: Our two best games are going to be Wings and Monroe. We need all our Eagle Family in attendance: December 1st and December 6th.
